the cream for loki’s tummy booboo seems to be working and its clearing up!!! if it keeps up at this rate, he won’t need surgery to remove it!!
other good news, george isn’t made about his shots anymore

were nipped in today vet adventures….. lol… no one told pepi no….
george looks good and got his rabies and distemper boosters. was very impressed when vet came out himself to check george for any reaction before we left! of course at that point george didn’t want to talk to him, lol
pepi looked pretty good. the vet didn’t like the feel of one lymph node so they are running a blood test. which i expected anyway since pepi is getting there. the tech said he was a good boy when they drew the blood
the vet said loki was a big boy, lol…. he also looked pretty good but two little front teeth don’t look to good so i’ll have to schedule a dental for loki. the booboo on my poor giggles tummy is a skin tumor (mast cell sarcoma) which is generally benign in ferret. we are on amimax cream to try and clear it up, if not they will remove it when they do his dental. got antibiotics for him to take the day before his dental. also ran some blood tests on loki but the techs said he did not want to cooperate…. thats my loki….
new vet is further away but i really liked them, it was worth the drive adn cost me a lot less then i though (bonus)
loki has a new boo-boo on his tummy :-( good thing we already have a vet appt tomorrow so i can get that checked out… this is like the third one in the same place………
got a call yesterday from the amimal hospital that does testing for the. the boys ADV tests are negative!! the Dr will send me a written report. this is good news
the boys have a vet appt on monday with the new vet Dr. Gold. he came highly recommended but it a bit of a drive to get to his office. george is due for his rabies shot. pepi and loki are just getting exams
the NEW cage (ferret nation 142) arrived this week and he said ‘GD thats huge’. i even put it together all by myself, well i did have him tighten the bolts when he got home. hit target yesterday for some pillow cases, tube socks and new blankies for the new cage.
the new bedding i ordered from LFFR has arrived yet but i can deck out the cage until it arrives. there stuff is great so its work the wait. after we get all set up i’ll post a pic.
well off to clean some litter boxes and head to the y.

they got lots of new toys, snacks, snuggly blankies and hammies and the current favorite toy- a new tunnel ferret-tunnel-of-fun.JPG
they also got, but hasn’t arrived yet, a new cage- ferret nation 142 and bedding for the new cage. they boys and i also, for a second year, picked ferrets off the giving tree to be secret santa for. its was nice to get a little thank you email from the shelter ferrets 
the boys when with me to my parents for xmas eve/xmas. they all loved checking out new stuff, but george is still scared of cats. he puffs up and hisses the whole time they are around (and my parents have 7 cats) various cat toys were related during their visit.
they boys even went to see Ms Nancy at the ferret in while mommy was volunteering on new years eve. loki wasn’t weirded out at all which was a surprise. pepi was looking for somebody to be the boss of and george just liked new toys to play with. And no one nipped Ms Nancy when she took samples for thier ADV tests. (whew)

went for our second vet trip so pepi and loki could get their rabies shots. i am happy to report that no vet techs were injured during the vacinations. however, two ferrets (george and loki) made a huge mess when they dumped over teh litter box in the carrier and send liter EVERYWHERE.
i can’t take them anywhere

i made my appt earlier this week but someone it didn’t get saved in their new computer system, but they were nice and the vet fit us in anyway. which was awesome since its a production for me to pack up 3 ferrets, get them and their stuff in the car and drive down there.
weights: Loki is 2.7 pounds, Pepi is 2.2 pounds (woohoo) and George is 2.4. Dr Kelso was very happy with everyones weight and was pleased the food selections (Totally Ferret, Mazuri and Evo) and supplements (Pingford;s Porridge) that i offer.
Some tartar on Loki and Pepi’s molars. She gave me a sample of some Hills TD cat food to use as a snack to clean up their teeth. But she said their teeth look great for their ages.
Exams went well. Pepi’s heart had a gallop (instead of lub dub it was lub lub dub) but when he calmed down it went to normal. Just something to keep an eye on at this point but nothing to worry about.
i was al worried about loki ‘gnawing’ on the tech or teh vet but he was a good boy, ate his ferretone and caused no trouble. but PEPI ….. well… anyone who knows him is aware that he does not like it when he doesn’t get his way. The Vet Tech has ferretone on her hands when we got out Pepi adn he could smell it adn wanted it… but that was to distract him when he got his distemper shot. well he didn’t like that and nipped her. LOL Luckily Pepi knows how hard he can nip to get your attention without actually causing any damage so no bleeding but everyone went ‘PEPI’ all at once and he could have cared less.
Back in two weeks for the rabies vaccinations and have to put on revolution after they get their baths this week. I am very pleased with this vet and plan to always make the boys appointments when she can see them.
mommy took me to the vet place with pepi and loki cause i don’t like to be home by myself. 
while i was there i met a nice kitty (in a box) named bob. he smelled my georgie nose and no smackies! all the peoples there said i was cute and laughed when i got on mommys head.
the nice ladies at the desk held me, gave me snacks and let me walk all over teh desk and get into all sorts of fun stuff to smell. they said i was so cute and such a good boy
mommy just said i was super spoiled
its offely early for mom to be up on saturday……what did she just get out of the closet….. is that the box for the car….. i think loki just got some anti-stinky ferret spray….
ut oh…… this can only mean on thing
a trip to teh vet!!
perhaps i can escape and find some new trouble to get into while we are there…. perhaps a cat to torment….. or i can get loki to nibble on someone…. while george looks cute…. then i can steal all the pens off teh desk again
